Narcotics
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

And yet not a single reference anywhere to treating pain with narcotics? Has the "opioid crisis" turned the entire medical establishment into a bunch of scurrying chickenshits? My pain is so constant and severe that I would have killed myself years ago without the relief afforded me by a range of prescription painkillers.

Oh Brother- I'm exactly* with you.
Im sock and tired of discrimination at every turn.... amd im in idaho- a somewhat easier state (dep on doc)My story, like all of ours, is long... but the narcotics are the only drugs that helps me to live only a mildly uncomfortable life. I've done everything on the Western side of things and Eastern... I've spent a decade studying and making and practicing herbal medicine...bringing myself to a level of health I've never been... however- the disease, persists,
progesses, and pain and its effects change constantly for the worse...

Lately- I've had sooo many problems with availability, insurances, pharmacies, distributors in the last months...trying to transition to belbuca/buprenorphine from 125mme/daily of MS and HM. Last 3 months- 35 total missed doses, 12 days full withdrawal, 40 pharmacy phones calls, 12 office visits..... all because a) FDA mandated minimal production/dist., B) Insurance, Doctors/staff, and Pharmacies are 100% clueless and filled with incompetence.
In these last crises- I have not had one acknowledgement, empathetic response, show of understanding, efforts to remedy the situation, and zero apologies, accommodation, or any sign this is not going to stop, and will likely only get worse.
To you, and to us all- I pray none of us gets to the point of suicide. It's real, people.

Boy, do I empathize with you! My doctor will only prescribe 12 Vicodin pills for me a year and yet spasms of pain sometimes cause me to fall or lose control of bladder
