Degenerative Disc Disease Folks How Do You Cope??
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Please how are you coping with it. Those that aren't getting enough medicine to control pain, what do you do?Let's talk 🦜
I've been on Narco 7.5 mg for 5 months 3 x a day. That's all and finally am getting 10 mg a day. I won't know until this Sunday if it works. I can only fill one prescription a month period. It doesn't matter if there's an extra day in the month and I'm short
The pain gets so bad I want to croak 🐸. Now we aren't going to do thanksgiving or Christmas because it's been so hard… read more

Thanks for your replies 😊. I've been on my own journey with this since I last wrote.
I was on hydrocodone and it helped for a few months. Then didn't so was put on Percocet also 3X a day. For 2 months I felt great and it was the first time in 2 years that I did. It was the first time I ever took Oxycodone at 10 mg.
I have to see my doctor every month for a prescription.
By the 3 Rd refill ( last month in January) the pharmacy could only get a generic in. It only has 2 and a half milligrams and I felt the differences. It wasn't strong enough and I brought them back to my Doctor who took them.
He had no other suggestions but I did. To be given back my headache medication. Which is caffeine, Tylenol, and butalbital.
Tylenol or other OTC doesn't help. It would be a blessing if it did...
It helps me enough to make it so far. It doesn't take all the pain away but after getting sick from detoxing off just 2 months of Percocet, I can live with it!
I could only find one family-owned pharmacy that could even fill it. I had called Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS and none Carry it anymore.

I got a virus and bronchitis for almost a month on top of everything. I'm thankful for the blessing of getting better after all this crap πŸ™„πŸ™πŸŒΉ!!!
Am going to copy this and share on my page with my latest blog post!
This all will become articles and in time part of a book πŸ“–.
People need to understand what we go through and hopefully we inspire others like ourselves.

Hi DianeπŸ’œ
Also have degenerative disk disease in 2016, just took Tylenol and ibuprofen.Fast forward to 2019, the pain was way worse took from 2019 to May of 2023 which was when I was diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis L4 L5 S1 with a pars 5 fracture I now take Tylenol #A20721, 10 MG 3x a day (which I also can only have refilled once every 30 days) and 500 MG of naproxen 2x a day move around as much as possible even if it is 5 mins here and there of walking in my yard.
From what I have read Narco is about the same at T3's which are for pain not inflammation. Ask your GP for Naproxen for the inflammation may help with the inflammation other that that THC w CBC and THC w CBG on the really really bad days.
I only take my medication when it is absolutely needed as the T3s are addictive

Hi Diane,
I have DDD too. It hasn't bothered me so much since I started going to a chiropractor. She does wonders for my back! Actually, she aligns me from head to toe. The difference it's made for me is wonderful! I hope you get a treatment suggestion that works for you. God bless you and grant you less painful days.. Connie
