I’m in a similar pickle here in Washington. I get a lot of referrals to things like, Tai Chi, Accupuncture, and Recreational Therapy? Not sure how that helps my sacroilitis? Maybe acupuncture but they haven’t set up an appt. Yet. I was also referred for Massage Therapy but haven’t heard from them either. Monday I will call them and try to set up appointments. I probably need an MRI but a walk in clinic doctor referred me to the Spine Clinic and VA hadn’t approved that yet either.
So I get it, they really don’t talk to you much. I’m fortunate that I was a nurse for 36yrs and can stand behind the provider to read their typing, no one has asked me not to do it. So, I will continue, I also can make out X-rays and MRI’s.

Hello, Kay. I also am a spinal patient of the VA; Indianapolis. My docs give me diagnostic images but then they don't talk to me. I have to read my radiology report myself to figure out things. They don't give me referrals to specialists. At this time, can't afford to see a specialist outside the VA, not even to look at the MRIs.
