I have had MRI's and symptoms and been on biological medication as well as chemo drugs and I am tired of putting medication in my body for something I may not even have. I have a strong family history of AS as well as MS. I have had numerous surgeries on both lumbar and Cervical spine for spinal stenosis. I don't want guesses I want proof or not the diagnosis. I worked in medical field and I am one that has to see it to believe it or I will continue with Tylenol Arthritis and not all the other drugs.
How did your old rheumatologist diagnose you? MRI? Bone scan? Symptoms and positive HLA-B27? And is the new doctor wanting to start the diagnostic process all over again? Or is he saying you don’t have AS but instead, a different problem? (I don’t know if it’s a cultural thing, but I’m struggling with understanding why you want it confirmed and why it’s a struggle.) Is he open to trying MRI etc?
