Dear Ted and Dr. Tambar,
I hope this message finds you well. I recently came across your post titled "Have You Talked to Your Doctor About What To Expect From Biologics?" on nonradiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA). While the content provides valuable insights into treatment adherence and open communication with healthcare providers, it's worth noting that the post doesn't explicitly address the question it poses.
This omission raises a concern as the post's title suggests a focus on… read more

Looking for some support. A brief history. I started experiencing inflammatory issues mainly in my neck around the age of 23. Took some time but we found out my father had the HLAB27 gene so was finally able to be referred to a rheumatologist around age 25 where I was diagnosed with AS. And I also have the gene. I’ve undergone many different treatments and therapies to help slow progression with Humira being the one to help the most. About a year and a half ago I began having very red eyes… read more

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Has anyone CTd your face? Several years ago extreme TMJ sent me looking for answers. Among the many consults, one ENT who did a CT told me he was surprised I wasn't in… read more
Hi everyone, I am a recently diagnosed 51-year-old woman and I’m struggling with days of intense depression. My primary care doctor has mentioned that Cymbalta can help alleviate the depression especially in chronic pain disease patients. Does anyone out there have any experience with Cymbalta?
This is very helpful. I haven't been functioning on a normal level for the past year. I am so discouraged. This might help while I wait for Blue Cross to decide if they will cover the drug Sublocade… read more
Based on my experience, you should probably go see a rheumatologist. I have had a few different issues misdiagnosed by my family practice dr. I think an mri would show it.
I started having low back pain in my mid-20s. Since then, it's progressed to my upper back and now to my hips (I just turned 51 a couple days ago). I've always been a very active person, I don't smoke or drink, and I'm not overweight. I've been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my back and with costochondritis, but I don't have any other underlying health concerns. Autoimmune disease runs in my family (both sides), and I did have hyperthyroidism in my early 30s which I was able to reverse and has… read more

I've had increasing balance problems ever since I was diagnosed with spondylosis and spinal stenosis in 2016. I've gotten to the point where I cannot even stand up long enough to zip my pants when getting dressed. I started off using one cane then two, then a walker (as of now), and probably a wheelchair next. I cannot even stand up straight anymore.
I have balance issues myself but for the reason nobody has ever said..I have fractures, stenosis, leg length discrepancy that I just started having a issue with, Nr-AxSpA, DDD, spondylosis… read more

Help - Was diagnosed with nr-AxSpa in 2023. Recently moved to a different state and can't find the great care I had in my previous state. New rheumatologist challenging original diagnosis says if damage not seen on MRI then it's not nr-AxSpa, and wants to switch my meds from Celebrex (no longer working) to Nabumetone 500mg). I don't want to take another NSAID (bloating and Celebrex didn't work). Should I get a second opinion/see a different rheumatologist before changing meds? Thanks so… read more
