Members shared mixed experiences with radiofrequency ablation (nerve burning) for chronic back pain, with results ranging from no relief to significant improvement lasting months to years. Several members reported the procedure provided temporary relief for sciatica and back pain, typically lasting anywhere from a few months to two years before nerves regrew and symptoms returned, with one member finding 80% pain reduction after multiple treatments and emphasizing the importance of choosing an experienced doctor and following proper aftercare. A recurring theme was that results vary widely from person to person, insurance often covers the procedure with a copay, and while relief is temporary rather than permanent, many felt even short-term pain reduction was worth pursuing.

My insurance covered it, I had a 300.00 copay. That hurt a bit in the wallet.... I used a credit card, because I don't have that kind of money laying around. The first of four time's didn't work as good as the last 3 time's, 1st time was a different doctor. Last 3 were same doctor. It really only helps my sciatica, but, as you know, that can actually be a lot. It's almost time to go have it done again. Best of wishes!

I did about 3 years ago.
It worked for about 6 months. For me it was a relief 5-6 months .
For me it was worth the relief.

Like you I am disabled and unable to work. It's hard enough trying to take care of myself honestly. But I never give up. AS DDD, IBS, ARTHRITIS & FIBROMYALGIA pretty much kick my butt on a daily basis, but I try to move forward. Some days my forward starts with three steps back. It's all we can do, battle on and one foot in front of the other

Hey @AllenStone

I'm still kicking, had a busy Monday and Tuesday with Dr's, that beat me up, today was a flare up day. Good news Tuesday from my Cardiologist, after a five year battle my ticker an I are working together again, and we have normal numbers in Triglycerides and just outside the high ldl marker at 117 down from 253! Yikes I was scared.

I have had the radio frequency nerve Ablation 4 times now, and I feel a fifth time coming soon. It helps my sciatica a great deal. About 80% this last time. Key is finding a good Dr to do it.

How have you been otherwise Allen? Any new hotties 🔥 in your life? Are you working?

Wishing you a well night and better tomorrow Allen !
