I have a Rheumatologist I trust 100%. She has given me an extra 10 years at work, helped me to engage my hobbies with ease and watch my grandkids growing up. When she said at one appointment I had to get serious as the disease was not under control. She gave me info on simponi ari. I started the day my insurance was approved. It has made a world of difference. I walk with ease and my neck rotates. I still have bad days but it's not all the time. Recently I lost my insurance. No more infusions for 6 months till I turn 65. I am in extreme pain. It hurts the breathe, can't turn my head ,my plantar facitis has returned and there are changes in my bones( severe osteo). I am awaiting cobra acceptance to get back on my infusions. I cry every day, no relief from pain. Muscle relaxants are the only way I can sleep, but for only 3 hrs at a time. I cannot walk very well and eating is down to 1 time a day. Lost 45 lbs already. The system is deficiet towards people who are disabled and not 65. You basically ha ve no accepted insurance by specialists .Medicare red and blue does NOT cover therapies. So I'm on my own and it's terrible!

I was extremely worried about the side effects as well. My experience is that I was so desperate I tried humira and got sick right after ( have a 2 yr old toddler constantly sick) haven't had to many issues with infection just noticed it takes me a little longer to get over my illnesses. Started doubling my vitamin c intake. They have to tell you all possible side effects but doesn't mean that you will get them as well. I would talk with your PCP and discuss what would happen if you get an infection and how it would be treated. Best of luck. I know these drugs are super scary but can also bring much needed relief

Being that I seem to always have many side effects from every medication I take, I am holding out until I can no longer physically and or mentally take the current side effects before I try biologics. I've read the horrible side effects of biologics and I sure don't need to add them to the mix as of yet.
Good luck with all your endeavors.

Wishing you a well day and better night
