Mekeba,Greetings!
It is my belief that diet is THE most important area of combating this disease. My diet mainly consists of Asian, Greek, and Mediterranean foods. I am curious, you mentioned alkaline water? Is that something that you buy, or do you make your own? And how is it made?

Mediterranean Diet, alkaline water. Ever since I switched over, the stomach symptoms lesson over time. Now it's mainly happening during flare ups.

Thank you for sharing! I agree diet is key. I also walk a lot that has helped my body in the long run. It made me stiff and flared at first but doing a min of 2 to3 miles a day has been beneficial.

I take meds and try to also feed my body and mind well.

I have heard of so many different treatments like IV therapy for vitamin infusion, oxygen therapy, cryotherapy. I am interested in those.

Hopefully you are having a good day today with AS! 🙂

Erica,
I am not sure if this disease can be controlled. I am just trying to slow progression for as long as I can. I've got other bone and health issues, so I tend to do just about everything I can to keep healthy.
That being said, I have found that keeping away from processed foods is my #1 way of keeping most of the flare-ups at bay. I also consider myself to be somewhat of a naturalist/herbalist. There are many fruits and vegetables that are anti inflammatories. Pineapples, teas(ginger especially). I also tend to overdo it when the weather is good. I have a prescription for a pain meds.
