Is Anybody Hunched Forwar?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am hunched forward and hunched to the right. In pain every day and almost always depressed. Is there Anybody that is or has gone through the same?

So, 10 years ago I had my spine fused. Cervical and lumbar spine into my thoracic area. One cage in my neck and two cages in lumber area. Im hoping after all that, the stooping won't happen. Still in incredible pain by sacroiliac area which is deteriorating. What now... don't know. I get a biologic every 2 months. It's called Simponi Auria.
Well wishes coming your way.

Sleep positions 😴 are important for stopping the hunching... if you lay on your side, fetal type position, then your allowing your body to huntch forward while you sleep. Flat on your back, little to no pillow.

I have leaned forward all if my Life. I had my lumbar fused and scoliosis corrected in 2021. In January of this year they had to fuse l-5 to s-1. They had to remove the previous hardware to put in longer rods to do this. I have graduated from 5 pound weight to 10 pounds. Also very limited bending with walking the only exercise. No PT.
I am pretty frustrated as its gardening season and I am not able to do much.

I do everything I can to not hunch forward . I wear a body shaper ( full length girdle ) to keep me straight , when it’s warm I wear one that goes from under my bra to my hips . I also have a bra that goes from my shoulders to half way down my back if I’m to sore to wear the body shaper . I’m 126 lbs but I got a large sized one , I don’t want to be squeezed in just supported .

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member - I know how you feel. The pain and constant gravitational pull all day long. It’s a fight for sure! Look for stretches for kyphosis on YouTube. There’s some that I’ve been doing and it’s helping. 🙌🏾. I also have my Fascia Therapist work on “my hump” that’s trying to form. She keeps it at bay. 🤩

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member - I’ve been looking for a brace on the tougher days to keep me standing straight. Can you share which bra you’re using to help?

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member - thank you for the tip.🙌🏾 I was just wondering today if my sleep position is impacting my posture.
