Hi,

Although my insurance covered Remicade for every 6 weeks, my doctor decided to increase the Remicade dosage and continue with every 8 weeks for infusion treatments, which has worked very well.

I was on Remicade and felt good on it; however my liver enzymes went up, so dr put me on Simponi Aria 1x/8 weeks. Feel good on it mostly. I have mild symptoms the week prior to infusion. Since you have already tried Remicade, insurance might allow you to try Simponi Aria. You might just have to use trial and error to find the right medication. Good luck!

Most of those companies have complete coverage of your med. You’re just responsible for infusion costs unless it’s a home injection.

I am on Remicade for 10+ years on 10 weeks dosage of infusion. Now the efficacy of Remicade reduced. Started getring pain and uvities attack frequently. My Dr. advised to shift to other biologics. Found they too are of similar cost as that of Remicade but dosage duration is very less. No insurance in my country not cover the biologics on long run. Finding it difficult to manage expenses of medication biologics and lifes basic requirements to live and sustain..

Look for foundations that will acquire the drug for from a company other than the current one the infusion center is using.
