My concern is that I had meningitis almost 2 years ago. My neurologist said she is sure I also get vestibular migraines. I have read that Humira can cause more problems with central nervous system. Meningitis did a number on me and I got facial drooping, leg weakness / numbness, extreme vertigo, hearing loss. My Dr is checking with infectious diseases to see if Humira is even safe for me to take, but I am curious if anyone has been on Humira and has CNS issues.

Thanks all!

I was on Humira for 2 years but last June it stared to become ineffective. Around that time I started have some hand trembling, tingling in my feet, muscle spasms in different areas of my body and a lot of pain. My Rheumatologist switched me to Cimzia but my CNS symptoms have not subsided and have gotten worse. I am now seeing a neurologist. He ordered a 3 day solumedrol infusion followed by a prednisone taper. I had an MRI of my brain and I have an MRI of my spine scheduled. He also ordered a lumbar puncture. My Rheumatolgist said Neuropathy is common is patients with AS.

I don’t know if this answers your question but hope it might provide some help.
