I have had 3 spinal surgeries. Be kind to yourself. Eat healthy prior to surgery. Have prepared meals in freezer or someone that will cook for you. The hospital usually supplies you with dressing aids-sock assist, hook for dressing, etc. The quality of them is sometimes questionable. I would suggest getting yourself a good grabber. To help with dressing and picking things up. I've been using them for years. Have several spread out around my home. Have comfortable loose clothing. Yoga pants, loose shirts, loose- no tag underwear for after. Nothing that will be too tight or irritating to incision site. Raised toilet seat is a must. Chair cushions to raise you up because after surgery getting up and down. Ice packs(hospital may supply them to use at home) Good books, audiobooks to listen to. Accept help. I struggle with accepting and asking for help, that is why I say that.
Good luck to you. Hope everything goes well. Give yourself time and be patient. Self love goes a long way. HUGS.❤️
