I never cease to be amazed (& frustrated!) by how AS affects people so differently & how there are so many different ways/treatments that we use to stay as functional as possible. Heat is my friend---whether it's the heating pad I keep close or the temperature outside. My pain & stiffness go way down during the warm weather, but other people feel no difference or have a harder time in the heat. For some yoga is very helpful, others find swimming better. Some find relief with biologics & others find NSAIDS more helpful & for others it's some combination of approaches. As frustrating as it is not to have a straightforward treatment/cure, I appreciate the various strategies/experiences members of this group share.

It is a constant battle trying to figure out what will give us relief. Including the foods we eat. It is so helpful to hear from our brothers and sisters to get idea.
Thank you

I know this may be unconventional, but, I float in the lake covered in the cool water. When done, I go back to my wheelchair and sit under the umbrella with a cold beverage.

Yes, Injections helped me too of Course, my Rheumatologist was very against them but, my pain Doctor was not! However, after about, 2ish months, mines were wearing off but, Everyone's different so I wish you the Best! Don't always go by what I say or, what you hear because of this! Our Bodies are all unique! What works for me may be different for the next person but, I ceased the narcotics, 4 times on my own, only to have my Doctor's get highly pissed, because, some can get seriously I'll! Byt, thankfully, I did not! After scolding me, he got up, shook my hand, then said, you're a ballsy mofo! Most people's are asking for more but, definitely don't do what you did, so, please let me know, NEXT TINE you pull this kind of stunt! My reply was Doctor, I wanted to see, if I could deal with it, WITHOUT these meds! His response was, and you cannot coreect?!correct?!! YES, I cannot! Anyway, BE STRAIGHT UP with your Doctor's as they need to know EVERYTHING, DON'T do what I did because some go into Convulsions, Cardiac Arrest, et cetera, et cetera! Hope this was Eye ๐Ÿ‘ Opening but, Don't Suffer Unnecessarily! God Bless You All! โœŒ๏ธโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™
