Brenda, I don’t like using the cane but it does help with my balance. I figured it’s better to walk with the cane than to chance falling and breaking something.
Then I’d end up in rehab which I don’t want.

My balance is horrible too. I have never used a cane but maybe I should consider it .

Yes I use a cane too. It helps me to be a bit more steady when I’m walking.

Actually, diagnosed about a year ago. At first I was told it was arthritis. Have had steroid injections and nerve endings burned. Neither helped for long. I'm steadily getting worse.

I don't use a cane and right after I fractured my spine and herniated a few discs the hospital told me it wasn't necessary? When I followed up with my PCP I also asked him about using a cane or a brace and was told no that would limit my ability to move? I thought to myself well isn't that the point? I was in so much agony I couldn't understand his comment but thought well he's the doctor right? Long story short my physical therapist was shocked and said no you should have been braced at the hospital and been told to use a cane actually she said forearm crutches so I called my PCP several times and finally they called me and said they had them for me but at that point it had been about 3 month's so basically my PT told me they were pretty much pointless at this point I could see she was baffled and annoyed that they dropped the ball. I find my balance is fine now everyone is different are you newly diagnosed? If you feel your balance is off I'd definitely use a cane especially since having Spondylosis puts us at a higher risk of a fracture! I should have just listened to myself and used a cane !! Hugs😀
