I have had two cataracts removed about 4 1/2 years before being diagnosed with spondylitis. I had no pain in my eyes, just foggy vision (like looking through misted (or iced up) windows).

When the first torn retina occurred there was no sharp pain. I did have the lightning flash and what appeared to seem like looking at a lash on my lense. I just knew something wasn't right so I went to my ophthalmologist the next day and they discovered the torn retina. Laser surgery was immediate. 1 year to the date later my other eye retina torn. I can see but I have had multiple laser and eye surgery. The AS and rheumatoid arthritis are connected. It just has been frustrating and depressing at times.

I have had iritis off and in since 2007. I wasnt diagnosed with spondylitis until Dec ‘21. Typically i ise a steroid eye drop, dilating eye drop and acetomenophen for pain. So far i have not deleveoped any other problems in my eyes. 🙏🏻
