Members shared practical and affordable strategies for managing neck pain and stiffness at home when regular physiotherapy sessions are financially out of reach. Several members described gentle morning stretches, self-massage at the base of the skull, heated rice in a sock warmed in the microwave, CBD lotion, Salon Pas gel with lidocaine, and TENS units as helpful tools for relief. A recurring theme was the importance of patience with your body in the morning, doing what you can at home to replicate professional care, and supporting one another through pain with both practical advice and heartfelt prayers.

I went to therapy once but three times a week at $40 a trip, I couldn't do. I started doing what they started me on and did it at home. I downloaded some neck e decides and keep doing a few each day. My neck has been much better. I occasionally use Salon Pas gel with lidocaine if It starts acting up.

Mary,I went to a physiotherapist whose skill when she pressed parts of my neck unlocked the stiffness. That was £60 first session, and £40 thereafter. Worth every penny ,I know ,but would be great if there was a National Health class somewhere.I find it difficult to massage my own neck. However the base of my skull when I massage it brings comfort and relief.
