Is the goal of pain control to be completely pain free or just get it to be tolerable pain? Is it possible to be pain free? I can get about 3 hrs out of ibuprofen 800 mg.
I had fusion surgery in October, now my pain level is different, now muscle mostly unless I do something that my back doesn’t like and the it sends me a quick jolt to remind me I can’t do that anymore. But I went from 1200 mg if gabapentin, with 1000 mg of NSAID a day to 300 mg gabapentin and 500 mg NSAID daily. The goal is to completely reduce to none if we can, depending on how therapy goes. To no pills at all. My goal is by February. Ice blocks helped me more at night. I sleep in recliner and wedged the pack between blanket and my back. I could get 6 hours of sleep then.
I’m telling you that ibuprofen will eat holes in you stomach I passed blood and had 2 urge holes ulcers in my stomach that had to be surgically fixed....you are playing with fire.....just my opinion 😀
Unfortunately I have found in my situation that nothing totally takes away the pain. You learn to manage pain and do the things not to cause the pain. Such as lifting things to heavy, not trying to clean house all in one day, letting others help you. Asking for help has been my hardest thing to do!
I call it my Chace Utley therapy. Sometimesi I had woke in cramping and pain so bad id get in cold tub. I'm from Philly. Where Utley played.
