I was told at 26 no lifting over 10 lbs, no vacuuming, sweeping etc the motion while bending throws your spine out of alignment, I have never been aligned. My curve was a perfect 36 degrees in both parts of the S. I had 2 small kids and working 2 jobs outside the house so tried to be good but st till had to do all housework and carrying. Then at 53 they found my curves were 50 and 51 degrees! I had bone spurs cutting Into my Sciatic nerves don’t he went in and removed the bone spurs on S1 and S2. Took tops off discs in L4 and L5. Said it was buying me time but just the beginning of surgery visits. Said my not stopping the lifting and pulling aggravated everything. Now 10 yrs later I am not lifting or cleaning but can barely stand to do dishes or check out groceries so curvature is worse. Sciatica is back at night, along with all my other issues. I wish I could go back and do better so listen and don’t lift, you will regret it later

Correction: I had Depo Medrol injections in my Sacroiliac Joints - (not Prednisone)

I have had similar problems but no low back surgery. The pain is agonizing. Manual Physical Therapy has helped (Doctor said it is Piriformis Syndrome and Sacroiliac Dysfunction) which causes pressure on my Sciatic Nerve. It also twists my pelvis and causes me to limp. I have also tried Lidocaine 5% Patches, Ice Packs, and when the Sacroiliac Joints lock up I get Prednisone Injections into the joint (40mg in either or both sides if needed).
I have mild dextroscoliosis also
due to a leg length discrepancy.
