Just wondering if anyone knows what this is. Already planning to ask the rheumy when I go in (couple of weeks). I've had a hard bump on the back of my neck for maybe fifteen years or a little more. Members shared experiences with neck problems related to ankylosing spondylitis, with many describing an electric shock sensation from muscle spasms, inflammation bumps, and cervical bone spurs that worsened with prolonged reading or poor posture. Several members offered practical relief strategies including ice application, neck stretches, foam collars, muscle relaxers, chiropractic adjustments, and maintaining correct posture while working at a computer. A recurring theme was the importance of getting proper medical imaging like a sonogram to rule out serious issues, as neck complications can range from benign fatty tumors or hematomas pressing on nerves to severe spinal fusion requiring surgery, emphasizing the need to address symptoms early before they progress.

It can be your body adding to lower c-spine area due to inflammation . Usually increases when not using correct posture and keep looking down ,leaning forward. Pain is a big cause as “we “don’t force our posture toward correct place when we are hurting. Afterwards it is a slippery slope .
