Humidity Vs. Heat
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Two in one...
What does humidity DO to agrivate our condition?
How is hot & humid different from dry hot regarding our condition?
I've seen people comment on here about humidity and been surprised. I've never thought about it. I thought heat was heat. What does humidity DO to agrivate our condition?

It has to do with the barometric pressure. Also, humidity causes swelling in the body and you get bloated like a frog! In turn, that puts pressure on the spine, nerves, joints, etc. At least that’s been my experience. The lower the humidity means dry air not wet soggy air that causes swelling. Hope that analogy mskes some sense. I tell myself it does...haha!😊

Sorry to hear your family is not available for you. I had an elderly neighbor friend who did’t have any children or family to help her. When her husband passed away I felt so bad for her that I decided to help her daily for 4 yrs untl she recently passed away. I miss her dearly. My point being that there are some really nice people left in this world that we don’t always see on tv, news. When you can put yourself out of your comfort zone and get to know neighbors, volunteer, join local support groups, etc. I’m just offering some suggestions. Take whatever advice that may be of help. The Lord always provides a way for us! Keep your chin up you are a fabulous person.

Hi deep , I have lived in New England, Arizona and now Florida. Cold and damp is the worst. Dry heat of desert, where it gets down to under 10% humidity is the best, seams to draw moisture out of the body. Now in Florida and it’s not that bad. What I did use in New England was a sauna , I had to get it above 110 to work but it did draw all moisture out of the body. I had to use this every morning for an hour then 1/2 hour at night. If not I could not move.
My sauna was a cheep inferred one new about 800.00. You can also find local gyms that have them if you want to see if it works for you. There are some cheep plastic ones on eBay for under 100 but I have no knowledge if they are any good. Either way you can test to see if dry heat is for you.

I agree atmospheric pressure makes mine worse
When we recently had a Hurricane pass by and the pressure got down to the 900's I got so much worse.
