Bowels ( Sorry About The Topic)
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Has anyone had an issue with bowel movements? For the last month I have pushed so hard it felt like I was having a baby. It was not hard or anything and nurse said it's probably the spine pushing on the intestine or colon. I ended up taking mag citrate but found grape and cherry flavor. It worked after two days. I did look it up and you can have bad reactions to it which I did. I'm so sick if all this. Thank God I have a surgical consult in the 22nd.

I take 2 Magnesium Citrate tablets a day. They really do help. It took a few days to work but it was worth it. I just take them with my evening meds

I have recently had a similar problem with constipation, it can be caused by the opiate medication. Fresh orange juice, bran flakes or any other sort of roughage and prunes or prune juice. There were some other good ideas that I can't remember just now but are on the site from a few days ago don't know if possible to access this. Maybe the nice people who gave me the suggestions would tell you too. I have been drinking more water and this helps as well. I prefer natural remedies but my pharmacist told me about a bulking agent that you drink and is not a laxative but works like one. Sorry can't think of the name of it. It will come to me eventually. I have the same issue and happened upon Magnesium Citrate tablets on Amazon. I take 2 every night and drink plenty of fluids during the.day. Watermelon works wonders for some people.

Donna if you have had any constipation or been straining to go the pain you are getting now when going to the loo normally could be caused by piles, which can be very itchy as well as sore, you can even bleed a little when you go. Thankfully it's easily sorted with some ointment from the chemist. I always keep some in the bathroom the sooner you treat it the less unpleasant it is. X
