Members shared reassuring experiences about traveling through airport metal detectors with spinal fusion hardware, with the overwhelming consensus being that titanium implants rarely trigger alarms, though some members noted they occasionally set off security at sporting venues or other checkpoints. Several members offered practical advice, including notifying security staff beforehand, carrying medical documentation or being prepared to show surgical scars if questioned, and understanding that stainless steel hardware is more likely to be detected than titanium. A recurring theme was the relief of discovering that most members passed through airport security without issue, easing fears about potential delays or invasive searches during travel.

I just Google this, said with Titanium hardware used in past 10 yrs,it's highly unlikely that alarms will detect it.But could happen if it's really close to the skin layers

I've had mine in neck since 1993. Replaced knee for 8 years. It sets off when i go thru security at the ballpark. I just always tell them before i go thru.
