Queen Creek, AZ

Has anyone used Cimzia and Simponi Aria as a combo? I use methotrexate and it's not working.

Members discussed whether Cimzia and Simponi Aria could be used together, with the overwhelming consensus being that rheumatologists will not prescribe two TNF blockers simultaneously. Several members shared their personal experiences with these medications, noting that Cimzia can take up to three months to become effective and may work well initially before losing effectiveness, while Simponi often provided minimal relief. A recurring theme was the frustration of finding the right treatment when medications stop working or insurance denies coverage, with members encouraging each other to keep advocating and exploring alternatives like Humira or Remicade.

BC. I have used both simponi did nothing for me.but CIMIZA I had good results with it for a year.but when it quits working it gave no signs.and it takes like 3 MONTHS to get in your system.but I don't think they would mix both drugs together.methotrexate made me deathly sick.

So ... my LFTs have gone haywire and have to stop methotrexate and other liver toxic meds. Ugh ... and f- yi - they would never use Cimzia with Simponi Aria together

I have used simponi, never really helped. As far as I know a rheumatologist will not issue 2 tnf blockers together. I have been on just about everyone of them. I am taking humira. It’s the best so far.🌺🤙🏼💞

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member ty. Methotrexate doesn't seem to bother me so much but I take the highest dose of 25 mg injection and may be doing more harm than good. Methotrexate and Cimzia are both DMARDS so I thought maybe they could be swapped one for the other as I continued Simponi Aria.
