Does Anyone Have Difficulty Wearing Clothes?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My first question on getting out of bed is "what shall I wear that doesnt affect my back. Sounds stupid I know, but its a major problem for me? I like to be smart but cannot stick the pain of anything around my waist. I have to cut through the waist bands of skirts, trousers etc. Even wearing tights is unbearable.
Reading this back I know it sounds ridiculous, but it is true.

I am sure your husbands friends will enjoy hearing all about your bra size lol x I was looking on my privacy settings for Facebook today and you can change them so that what you put on here is not on Facebook as well.

I cannot stand pressure on hip s and waist. Because of my age I feel the Drs don't care.

Okay so I wear a 36 L bar. And have had severe pain most of my life. And like all of you clothing is so irritating but not wearing a bra for me is asking for a lit more trouble. Oddly enough though, long line bras seem to help avoid some chest and rib pain. I have found a lady on eBay who sells them for larger cup sizes, for around 20bucks each and then shipping. And she will combine shipping for multipal orders. She has front clasp ones and no wire options. She is in Germany ,so it's takes a couple days. It was the first time I ever found a bar that fit. oleskana is her name on e bay. My clothes always make life worse when tight or uncomfortable and adding the size of my breasts it is absolutely miserable! I just realized that my husband's face book is the one linked to this site, lol. Sorry anout that!

I avoid buttons as I can't always fasten/unfasten them. Zips I have to add a ribbon or key-ring tab to make it easier to grip. Bra's.....yeah, only on a good day. Looking for front fastening to save the morning wrestling match! I try to go for elasticated wastes. Tops are tricky as overhead mobility is limited and as I said buttons are just not worth it. Have to avoid close fitting necks and tight sleeves, seriously uncomfortable. I go for loose fitting relaxed clothing, if I need something dressy I avoid fussy fastenings and things that might catch. Over head is often easier as the bad arm goes in to the sleeve first then the other, lean forward and lift over the head with the good arm..or help if it's a really bad day, step into dresses raise their own problems.......at times it's like one of those quiz show challenges and we end up in fits of laughter. It does make shopping a challenge so if I can't find anything locally, the internet is a valuable tool. As for footwear...slip ons are a must.....I like boots but go for those with zips...it they have laces and zips then once they are on the laces are tied with a double not to stay fastened and then I only use the zip with my little modification. With a little imagination and scouting, you can be as fashionable/ trendy as you wish but with much easier dressing.....better still, create your own style, there is so much out there you can have a world of fun. xx And don't be afraid of colour!

Be outrageous and dare to be different. Who said active wear is only for the fit. If it fits I wear it!
