Members shared deep frustration about the diagnostic challenges of autoimmune conditions, with many expressing anger at being dismissed by doctors when symptoms like chronic pain, fatigue, and inflammation cannot be easily seen or measured through standard tests. Several members offered practical advice, including requesting imaging tests like MRIs and X-rays rather than relying solely on blood work, asking doctors about DNA testing to identify hereditary conditions, and bringing family members to appointments so doctors can explain the severity of invisible illnesses to skeptical loved ones. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of living with undiagnosed or misdiagnosed conditions, feeling misunderstood by family and friends who see them as lazy rather than sick, and the relief that comes from finding a community that validates their lived experience of pain and disability.

Your x-rays will help to diagnose. The problem is they have to do the X-ray a certain way. For a PA they need to point the cone from the top of your head down. Not a straight on lateral to postier veiw. And they can also do DNA test to find out if it's heritary. I will write down the tests and keep them. If you want. I have to go off all meds. For the weekend and take the test on Monday. I have forgotten to mention. I have to go off vitamins as well. Just for the test

Usually our white cell count increases to show inflammation is present. Next they send you to a rheumatologist if they feel a specialist diagnosis is needed. A rheumatologist carries out whatever further tests are required to identify what condition you have. They do get it wrong sometimes, but generally certain blood tests, MRI scans and physical examination can usually tell them which disorder you have, and they can be multiple, which is when things get tricky because a lot of auto-immune disorders have very similar symptoms. Hope this is helpful. X

You may be able to get a special DNA Imprint test (Google It) which can pinpoint disorders, allergies, etc.
Ask a doctor if they can order the test for you!

It really rials me, that just because our illnesses can't be seen with the naked eye, that we are virtually given the brush off, like we are nuts. No one can see pain, but we on here can bloody well feel it, like I am at the moment. I'm so bad I feel like I'm dying, and frankly I wouldn't care if I was, I'd finally get some peace. I'm sent all over the place and get different opinions everywhere I go. I don't care what its official name is, all I know is it hurts like hell, and nothing seems to help except CBD oil, but its hard to get a good one and very expensive, so hoping I get it prescribed. These conditions need to be researched into far more, and proper working pain relief needs to be given but most of all, we need to be taken seriously. X
