So, trying, really trying to figure out why, after a horrible flare I was left with loss of sensation in both hands and both feet. I had to be off of meds for 3 months, and flared. I've had EMG (ouch), nerve conduction tests, mri's and more. They confirmed active and severe loss of nerve conduction. Told me carpal tunnel. I knew it wasn't! I had no pain, and numbness started suddenly and wasn't worse at night. But if I refused surgery, they wouldn't look for anything else, such as why both feet… read more
Same here! I am ready to go back and have my neck worked on. I have 3 compression fractures in my neck now as well as one deformed vertebrae and it’s pinching off a nerve to my hands. I’ve had all the tests and even a surgery to have a bone removed from my hand for a trigger finger. Most days I can barely turn my head and the headaches are getting so much worse. I recently had to take myself off nortriptylin after terrible nightmares resulting in physical injury! I am finding out the hard way less meds and deal with the pain naturally is better for me!
I agree. Pretty sure those same symptoms I have are spine related
I have been living with neuropathy for about 20 years now. And I keep telling the Dr's that I'm not diabetic. Finally the pain in my neck has gotten worse. Tried everything even the shots. When my surgent saw my ex rays He said that my spine had really gotten worse than 2 years ago when he looked at it. I was in for surgery the next week. He told me that my spinal cord was being so pressed that I was going to become not able to walk any more. After the surgery I'm starting to feel my feet again. Even my legs are feeling better. I would advise you to find yourself a surgeon that just works on the spine. They know what they are doing. good luck, hugs
I'd keep searching for answers if I wasn t satisfied. I find not many doctors seem to know. Then if it's caused by spine issues, do I really want surgery. Unfortunately so many issues I have to live with which makes this a good site to share.
Hello @A MySpondylitisTeam Member, I'm just now seeing your post. It was sent to me through the Spondylitis, team. I'm so glad that they did. And you posting this. I have had a Pain Simulator put in my back for the pain in my neck, arms, shoulders and hands. It's working really well for me. But I still have lots of pain in my lower back and legs, and feet. I have asked my Dr. about it still no answer back yet. But I'm sure that he will help me there too. Hugs to you, Katy
PS. What happened to your eye, if you don't mind my asking? Did you fall?
