I was sent to a Rhuemy after begging to see one. Only gave me a referral when my blood test came back with HLA27B, even after years of symptoms. Was put on half a dozen tablets at the first appointment with the rhuemy, had a xray and found stage 3 Sacroiliitis on both SI joints. Figures.

I have been on the same medication for 36 years until Feb this year as my slow release tablets have been discontinued.
I started on indomethacin 4 x 25ml during the day and a 75ml slow release at night. Starting again now to try find something that works and been given diclofenac - need to wait and see I suppose as I also have plenty of codine tablets to keep me going 🙂

I’ve been on Humira for psoriasis for four years. I was only diagnosed with AS 18 months ago. Nothing has changed in terms of medication for me since diagnosis. There was talk of taking me off Humira to see if I had any pain but why fix something that isn’t broken. So to answer your question, I was never put on anything for AS.

They started me on treatment pretty much as soon as I got the diagnosis. Preference is sooner than later to keep the progression slow.
