@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. I have several dead nerves. If you can walk other muscles with over developed and take over the slack somewhat. If you can walk and it’s not affecting bladder or some important body function then don’t worry about it, surgery could even make it worse and you might not walk or function as well after surgery. Depends on the nerve affected and the cause get opinion from a neuro surgeon and an orthopedic surgeon. Ask them pros and cons of surgery versus no surgery. Even if it affects bladder there are alternative for the bladder. I have one dead nerve that hurts feted my balance a little bit only if I tried to stand on that leg without standing on the other leg at the same time. It had no affect at all on my daily life.

If it's badly pinched & not dead u might need surgery to relive the nerve so it's not pinched get a nerve conduction test to check the nerve hoping u still have nerve still working for u.pls let me know.

Physical therapy can work wonders and should be the first place you start. A chiropractor might be helpful if its just misalignment. If you can walk, you dont need surgery. Lots of people live and function fine with pinched nerves all the time. It just depends on which one, what it functions, how much it affects you. If you do opt for the surgery route, get 3 opinions first. Never go with the first or only one.πŸ˜ŒπŸ™
