I was diagnosed with axial spondyloarthritis with psoriasis or AS with psoriasis last year.
I took Humira for at least 12 years. I went from 1X monthly to 4X monthly. It is documented to lose efficacy over time. Side effects: nerve damage that is not reversible - peripheral neuropathy and carpal tunnel in both wrists (cannot say for certain if Humira caused this). Skin cancer: Melanoma requiring major surgery + squamous requiring minor surgery about 5 - 8 times a year. Since quitting Humira the skin cancer is <1X per year. I'd assume that was a real side effect.
I go back to Dr on 13th of March. Will up then. Thanks!
I used it for several years with no issues. It really helped my hand pain. I was getting Remicade, then Inflected along with it. I stopped it several months ago bc my liver enzymes went up after a vaccination and stayed up for months. I have fatty liver and possibly autoimmune hepatitis but after two USs Drs don't seem concerned but I am. Better to have pain than no liver. Just make sure you are having regular lab work and take the folic acid with it. Good luck.
I hope it works for you. Prayers going up.
