I've been told by my GP that because I've had a gastric bypass that there are not many options for me to reduce pain. Does anyone have tips or have the same problem?
I’ve had the Rouen Y in 2015, I was started on Celebrex 3 weeks ago and was afraid to take it. Pain is a powerful motivator, I gave in. It helps but I think I have not gotten a diagnosis yet. My primary has agreed to work me in Friday. I either have sacroilitis or a disc rupture. L-5, S-1
I had the bypass/RNY and my rheumy doesn't ever consider this an issue. Not sure that's a good thing. I take several capsule medications like cymbalta and celebrex. I can tell when I don't take them so I must be absorbing some of them LOL. I just make sure I have food when I take them.
I had gastric sleeve surgery a few years ago. I'm not supposed to take nsaids. My doctor put me on 5mg oxycodone (3/day), Then sent me to a pain specialist. I've been seeing her for several years. They have not changed my pain medicine, just sent me to PT and osteo Dr., he sent me to the rheumatologist where I was finally diagnosed. As of now pain meds help. I'm told that over time they might stop, but I've been taking them for about 10 years without addiction or a drop in efficacy.
Hoping for a Resolution for you,
Cinnamon
I saw my primary and she thinks it’s just a L-5,S1 problem. She did draw some labs just in case it’s an inflammatory condition. I haven’t heard what the results were. That was Thursday and today is Tuesday, it’s free but it’s slow. The whole VA system is trying to improve.
Do you have any side effects from taking celebrex, I was given this prescription but haven’t started taking it as I read all the side effects you might get taking this medication
