I'd Like To Know Who Else Was Misdiagnosed For Years, Decades Even And Now Are Living With Advanced Ankylosing Spondylitis?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is there a viable option other than opioid therapy for those of us living with advanced ankylosing spondylitis? If there is I have not found it.

Count me in in on that! I had my first malor flare at 20 and was not diagnosed until 35. I am 71 now. I can tell you to cherish the good times and pray in the bad time.

Derrick4 "Is there a viable option other than opioid therapy": OTC products, anti inflammatories (not great on the stomach), biologicals (TNF, IL-17 and JAK inhibitors (all have risks and downsides). Tries them all except JAH inhibitors. Plus, short term prednisone. The diets and natural stuff have not worked. Exercise helps AS and overall feeling better.

I agree that movement plays a huge role in easing pain but once you get where I'm at you're going to need a little help besides exercise unfortunately. Good advice though
