I’ve been on gabapentin 1200 mg for 3 1/2 years, Meloxican for 3 years, tizadine for 3 years and Cymbalta for 3 years. I told my rheumatologist that it doesn’t seem to be helping at all and the reply was maybe I needed to go to a pain specialist. I've had 2 epidural & 4 sessions of trigger point injections & have to say, the last trigger point injections finally gave me a slight relief after starting the injections @ the end of January 2023. Seems to take a few weeks before feeling relief but my situation of movement IS better than before starting the injections. Excersize was my life & now I am unable due to exhaustion & pain. I try & persevere but exhaustion takes over. One day @ a time & keeping a positive attitude, helps me get through my day. I think I waited too long before seeking help. Research is a great tool. Get another rheumatologist. I never heard a pain specialist giving fentanyl patches. I use lidocaine patches. They seem to help somewhat. I'm going to try a stimulator on Monday. We'll see how that works.
