Yes I have suffered with this got so bad even breathing was painful. Sometimes it’s like I’m strapped in with a tight seatbelt wrapped around my chest back of ribs and front. Not a nice feeling at all.
If I didn’t know this feeling I would be concerned I was having a heart attack but after 10 years of living with AS I now know inflammation pain and how it feels in different parts of the body.
I find hot bath helps along with a hot water bottle but still ever so painful

I have had intense pain around my back to front ribs & couldn't move & hurt to breathe. I had a massage & it took an hour to work out the pain. It's a problem with ligaments, tendons, muscles & joints. I don't get that pain as often & I hope I don't! I've been swimming which helps with AS & soaking in Epsom salts. I also take vitamins, minerals, & use oils which all helps some!

All the time from front to back. Besides my lower back its where I hold my most discomfort and pain. I'm on Cosentyx and it does reduce the symptoms dramatically but I always have the achy rib pain to some degree and it affects my breathing even psychosomatically.

Yes. When I have a really bad episode my pain wraps from back to front. It feels like I have barbed-wire wrapped around my upper body.

I get a cold ache that radiates from my spine outward towards my ribs. Mostly from the middle 1/3 of my spine outward. I'm thankful that it isn't a constant
