Affording Medication
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

So I'm struggling at the moment with being able to afford medication. I'm unable to work full time because of my AS, so I don't qualify for insurance. I know Humira and others like that can cost over $5,000 a month without insurance, and that's over double my monthly income. Has anyone found a solution for more affordable medication? My health is definitely getting worse, and I would love to be able to slow the progression with meds but have no idea how I would ever be able to afford it

I get my Stelara through Jansen Pharmaceuticals. They pay for all my shots, that's $14,000.00 a year. All I did, along with my doctor's office is apply. I am on Medicare but they only take $2,000.00 off of the $14,000.00. Talk to your Dr and apply. All Pharmaceutical companies have patient assistance programs. Here's a link, and good luck.https://www.janssen.com/us/patient-resources/pa...

Have your doctor send a request to the pharmaceutical company and ask for reduced or $0.00 copays. They all state in their ads that "financial help" is available. Keep working for it, be your best advocate. Hugs, Wanda
