Red itchy rash developed on hands amd slowly moving up arms.. anyone have somwthing similar from a biologic?
Hi Amy 🖐 I have had rashes on my hands before. They were not fully explained to me though I asked many doctors. They followed a 3 week cycle and were brought on by stress. They started out as a red, hard, acne looking bumps that were itchy that always appeared on areas of my palms. As time went on, they would grow, spread, then burst. Very painful. I went through this process for maybe 10 years. No medication or creams stopped or prevented the cycle and it happened every month. It was during a very stressful period in my life. I noted that I did not pass on this rash to others though a caregiver. The rash area did grow to incompass my entire palm and inside fingers during the last episode.
Finally, after going to a dermatologist, he biopsied the rash and found it to be something like herpes simplex, basically a form of reoccurring shingles. He prescribed Valacyclovir HCL daily and the rash has never returned nor have I had a case of the Shingles, knock on wood. Why I put up with it for so long? It was during a very confusing time in my life when I had no idea what was happening to my mind or body. So many things I just let slide while I was managing the incredibly stressful life I was living.
Hi Amy, i have been getting the Inflectra infusions.. i didn’t get a rash, but i know it is one of the possible allergies.. talk to your rheumatologist.
I was getting major migrane attacks two days after the infusion that lasted for two days. First time they said it is probably a coincidence, a month after it happened again and third time we’ve decided to change medication. Supposedly the infusion stressed my body too much..
Good luck Amy 🍀
I have recently developed rashes on my legs. Primary doctor believes it is a drug induced Lupus rash caused by Humira. Stopping med and following up with rheumatologist.
Hi Amy, sorry to hear you are dealing with this. My mom has had a recurring rash on her arms and legs for a decade now. No doctor has helped her. It's not itchy or on her palms, but I have read research saying that AS can cause rashes... so many random side effects! I so hope you can get answers.
Hi Amy, I am sorry, I can't help you, trusting you find answer. Maybe something you ate? I also know nothing about biologic meds. So sorry.
