I felt pretty good after my second infusion but it didn’t seem to last? Is this common and I just need patience? My stiffness is still improved but I’m confused. This is my first medicine I tried so I don’t know what to expect. Thanks.
This has happened to me with all three biologics I have tried. I know that a person can start to produce antibodies that break the drug down, but in my case that isn't what has happened. The drug levels were checked but the drug isn't working as well after a few months. I wonder if it was a very strong placebo effect early on.
I saw my rheumatologist yesterday and ask him about rinvoq and the amount of side effects it has, he wouldn't recommend it, but I hope it works for you
Thank you to you both. I guess I will wait and see what the doctor says. I will try and be patient although that is not something I’m good at. I’m sure you all understand. (Unfortunately)
I am so glad I have people to talk to.
FWIW, from my experience.
Biologics may be working while not noticeably. It may take several months to notice a difference, especially if other health issues are also occurring. Another biologic, Simponi, should start working noticeably after 1 month, although a better choice may be decided by your doctor. Each one of four that I have been Rx over the years is different. It sounds like everyone responds a little differently, even during different years of their lives. I remind myself that biologics are designed to slow down the progress of the disease, not cure it. At least, not yet.
Enbrel had to be stopped after significant improvement. Simponi may be currently not working for me.
Wishing you the best!
what is a KU spine center and what do they do for you? Have you had surgery on your back?
