A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I started having low back pain in my mid-20s. Since then, it's progressed to my upper back and now to my hips (I just turned 51 a couple days ago). I've always been a very active person, I don't smoke or drink, and I'm not overweight. I've been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my back and with costochondritis, but I don't have any other underlying health concerns. Autoimmune disease runs in my family (both sides), and I did have hyperthyroidism in my early 30s which I was able to reverse and has… read more

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else experience constant severe pain in their shoulder and thoracic region? Nothing has helped reduce the pain aside from meds that bring it down to a its definitely there and cannot be ignored state. It feels like it's bruised. Lots of popping and grinding upon shoulder movement. OT mentioned imaging to see if i dont have a torn derma or ligament.

My Neck Was My First Clue About AS.
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

With Degenerative Disc Disease Stage 4 my neck/cervical was dismissed. The pain was excruciating at work, holding a position to look down, draw blood, even lean forward taking a BP. Until the CT they took, only when I had to lie down and put my head in a holder for the scan I began to shake in such pain my moans were beyond my control. So loud.
