Do you mean our entheses points where muscle or tendon attach to bone? That's where our inflammation areas begin, and can be anywhere in the body where those tendons or ligaments meet up with bone. My understanding of it is over time, those places can form cartilage and later calcify, causing stiffness and immobility. There are meds that can help to halt the progression of the disease, and other things that can help us with the inflammatory pain. Your doctor could explain the methods better for how to diagnose it.
