Craig read this article before you jump into a pain pump. Hope may still be out there. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2019/...

Craig Hill.I have one I've had it for 11years.I just HAD it replaces in December 2018.it had a lot of benefits.i always had trouble with narcotics.i am allergic to the morphine family.have severe side effects.but sense I've had THE PUMP I don't worry about over dosing.which I overdosed 3 times but I Did not intend to my pain was so bad.so that's one of THE big things for me.and the other big advantage is I don't HAVE anyh narcotic laying around the house, I had a sister, sister-in-law that stole and took my mesicine.they Knew THE date that it was suppose to be filled.my sister would get half my pills.my sister in law wss at the House every day asking for it.her sorry as son would crawl threw my windowa when I wasn't here and go through everything trying to fine my meds.had to call the law on him 3 time.but it caused a lot of conflict with my brother.he finally caught him.he didn't believe a
Me.but he finally found out. The 3 big advantage is I get 24 hour dosing.a RN has to come about every 48 days to fill my PUMP.the only thing I can say negative about it, Is that it's surgically implanted into your side and the risk of infection and getting adjusted to dosing.but over all I would have it done again.well worth having.I hope this helps and the only other draw back is that you have to go through ax7 day trial to see if it will help with the pain and I had excellent coverage and then the actual surgery takes about 4 hrs.the surgeon has to make three incisions, the first is placing the pump., the second is the have to make an incision on your side for the catheter.and xmthe 3 is in your back that's for the for the catheter to be placed in your spine.and then I think I was in the hospital for 3 days because I had an infection and to get my pain meds adjusted.and finally the last straw back is that you cannot take a bath for 2 weeks.but I haven't been able to get my pain relieved in over a year.they out me on sufentanyl and has done nothing and now I am facing a 5 th back surgery because I started falling and have bone spirs.but I am praying that my pain will be relieved after this next surgery I pray my pain will be controlled.sorry for such a long read.

I had a pain pump, it was the only relief I got. But please let me caution you! You can get Mzre from the mesh that they put the pump in so they can stabilize the pump in your body. I had to have mine removed because of that. Now some people can go on for years and not have a problem. The doctor's asked me if I wanted another one after a year of it being removed. I said absolutely not. I will not go through this again. So now I have the virus and it will flare up again . Do all of the research that you can on it. Best of luck to you.
