I had lower back surgery back in sept and for awhile everything seem good . Then the hip pain to turn was a struggle. I have spondylilisthesisof lumbosacal. It took five years to finally figure out why my legs were going numb. One of the disc was broke in half and kept pitching my nerve next day I was in surgery. On top of that I have SLE lupus so that just makes things worse.
I’ve had 7 major operations in the last 6 years. I’d it wasn’t for my surgery, I don’t think I would be alive today. Too much pain to handle. Do not be afraid of the surgery. If you have the fusion it will take 3 days for your brain to get use to the hardware, rods in your back. It is the most painful event ever in my life after childbirth! However, after the 3 days of agonizing pain, I started to get better. I hope you find your answer soon
Yes, In the past few years I've had surgery on my lower back and on my neck. And I'm getting some feeling back in my legs now.
Thanks for replying June, my legs have been going numb, the surgeon wants to fuse my spine and put rods in ,he said i have stenosis in my lower back plus several discs out of place. I did even realize I had a bad back . I am worried the surgery will leave me in more pain than I have now. If I don't have it done and it gets worse i could end up with double incontinence. Which is why I feel so unsure and scared of making the wrong decision . I hope. Have they suggested any other treatment for you ? Xx
Thank you I am due to have surgery in july. They want to fuse my spine and put rods in it. I am scared of wont help the numbness in my feet. And I will end up with a bad back aswell
