I went to an AS INformation session in Toronto. The Dr.’s mentioned that the Biologics treatments are less effective on women, especially if they don’t carry the HLA B27 gene..

I am HLA B27 positive and am going to be starting biologics in about 2 months! so i'll let you know how i'll go

YES! I am a woman and HLA B27 negative. Have had very little success with Biologics. I thought I must have supper immune system.

Medications do work differently on women than men. Our immune system isn't the same. They may take stronger medicine and by weight comparison, too.

I tried enbrel for about 9 mo. Didnt help a smidge No more bios for me!!

That is what I am getting checked for. That Gene. You do know. You have to stop meds and vitamins three days before test I'm taking my test on Monday
