A.S. Complacations
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey everyone. Say I was wondering if anyone has ever had complications since they have been dex'ed with this spondylistis crap? I do believe this is what is causing a lot of my issues. I do see the RA doc but not until Feb. I am just wondering if you have what kind of issues you had. I'm just having so much pain through my low back and nasty pain in my legs not to mention weakness. I am totally fused through my SI joints, hips and pelvis but I also have been having chills lately to go with… read more

@AS complications
I'm also having weakness in my legs, chills sweating....I have spinal stenosis...but also have low thyroid and digestive disorder. I'm reading books about low thyroid function...An anti-inflammatory diet will help with back and joint pain. I started taking a probiotic with 30 billion units of the good bacteria...This helped me...I've learned if you can clean up your diet, it cuts down on this whole inflammatory process.. I also started using a vitamin with digestive enzymes included, and a calcium supplement with minerals and Boron. I'm told it will take about two years to clean up my digestive processes, and then hopefully I can discontinue my pain medication...The calcium and the probiotic helped from the first pill taken. Everyone is different...There seems to be a connection with low thyroid and spinal problems...I'm going to read the books about thyroid and autoimmune disease listed on Amazon....Changing your diet is a major accomplishment....Not easy.

It been a long cold winter...the diet thing has been a real trial and error...but it seems to be helping
I definitely have that leaky gut thing going on....Nausea has been my middle name for a long-time..The pain has been unreal and my hip xrays show lots of inflammation... I been taking herbs for inflammation and a probiotic...I'm doing much better...I could not do gluten free. Disgusting...I like to cook and eat...I thought it was horrible...I don't have Celiac disease.....So am using organic wheat flour with out pesticides...I'm walking a couple of times a day.....doing better....Im eating weight watchers vegetable soup...to loose weight....I had to Google the recipe....Hoping for warm weather..
Blessings to you all..Happy Spring... the time changes tonight. Antoinette

I read all kinds of books looking for a better diet...I got so confused...I used to see a Naturapath years ago when I could afford it...She was from Germany....the best doctor I have ever gone to!!!
She recommended the diet according to your blood type...I'm just starting to follow this....The review on Amazon of this book states that after using this diet for Three months this woman with chronic pain and chronic fatigue got up out of her bed and was pain free....The fatigue and the brain fog was also gone....I'm typing up food lists so I can try this...Ill get started next month....I'm ordering vitamins and minerals also...This cuts down on what you can eat. Ill keep you all posted on how this works....I have so much pain that I'm house bound now....Only room for improvement. Hugs

You must call your doc's nurse. Have her call you back and make her understand. She can convince him or even override protocols to get you in. Use " don't want to fall thru the cracks" phrase to really get her attention. This is called going through the back door. Even a good report with the receptionist can work. And call as often as possible to catch a cancellation - find out when they confirm their appointments and call then. I was a practice mgr. before my husband got sick. These tips will work.
