Not A Question. I Wanted To Show Some New Kinds Of Exercises That Are Refreshing And Fun For People Like Us.
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=utyL2bm1I7E. These are super easy, fun refreshing movements that are so easy to do. They are refreshing because they get blood flowing in a gentle way that makes a person feel better. It is a very simple yoga that can be done laying down, sitting and all kinds of ways. The lady on her youtube channel say it helps with weight loss. I haven’t tried hem much so not sure about that but I guess if a person starts moving a lot as opposed to not moving due to immobility… read more

Shoulder Pain?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else have shoulder pain? It started a week ago.
I don’t remember doing anything that hurt it.
I can move it and use it but sometimes I get an awful pain. My arm also feels weaker than usual and shaky.
I know AS can affect the shoulder but not sure how common or what the symptoms are like.

Thanks

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

When standing up after sitting or getting up in the morning, I can barely walk for 5-10 minutes. The pain in my feet is so intense. I’m honestly scared to death I’ll end up in a wheelchair by 50.

Recumbent Trikes For Exercise
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Anyone use a Recumbant Trike for exercise ?
I'm looking into it, as walking causes a pain in my hips that I describe as "Locking up" followed by spasm like pain in my lower back.
On the recumbant trike, your in a almost 0 gravity position, and pedaling for muscular, cardio excercise. Hoping it will work for me ! If so I'll let everyone know !

Question Regarding Diagnosis
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi — I am positive for the HLA B27 gene. I am 57 years old. In 2018 and then again in June 2023 I had episodes of widespread body pain that lasted 8 weeks each time. I had a burning pain up and down my spine. I also had arthritic pain in the thumb joints in the base of my thumbs and pain on my front hip bones. I also had tendon pain in my shoulders.

I have also had 2 episodes of plantar fasciitis in the past 2 years. I currently have stubborn plantar fasciitis and am using Volteran gel… read more

Do You Make An Effort To Promote Physical Activities/moderate Food Choices For Younger Generations Now That You Know You Should Have?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

When I found out I had AS, I had already destroyed my body and will to be active. My ability to have a better menu was out the window.
I pushed for my family to be active but to lead by example is better than arm chairing it.
I am not shy telling of my mistakes and pushing them to be better. But it's like the stories I got about going to school in 10 feet of snow uphill 15 miles away walking after doing chores since 4am. Yada, Yada. Lol.
