What Should I Do?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello! My name is Erkinai and I’m 24 y.o.
My husband (28 y.o.) was diagnosed with SA 3 months ago. +HLA-B27
Now he started treatment. He has low back pain and psoriasis.
We are doctors, even though It really terrifies me 😥
I know clinics and further complications, and it is not helpful at all 🥺

What should I do?

I was recently diagnosed and have hla-b27 gene too. I also have iritis & lymphatic colitis. I went ti a rheumatologist and see a neurologist. The rheum is having me use inflectra via infusion which helps somewhat with my pain but it should help w/ psoriasis as a biologic and neurologist out me on gabapentin for my nerve problems and severe headaches. Slow and steady - you’ve got this!

Advocate for what you want. I pissed off my rheumatologist by bringing in an information I found on the internet. But we have worked through that and I'm hoping that it's all okay.

Talk to your dr. and get information about it. Don't stress about everything like me, its really hard not to get depressed when thinking about it. Hugs and prayers

Take a deep breath, big hugs.
Gather your resources and slowly assemble your treatment team.
Slow and halt disease progression.
Its a marathon and not a sprint. Take it easy with yourself and your husband.
Remember that each patient experience is unique.
