How To Reduce Pain When Injecting Cimzia Into My Leg?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I took my 3rd set of 2 Cimzia injections last night. I have no pain when injecting into my stomach. When I inject on my leg, however, I experience pain as the medicine goes in and it takes longer inject the medicine (as if there is resistance to emptying the syringe). Anyone else have this experience when using a syringe injection? Any recommendations?

Thank you for your feedback! I was injecting in the front of my thigh while standing up. Two definite "no-no's"!! I also learned that the solution is thick and does inject slowly AND to push the needle in a bit further.

What I do is let it warm up for 45 minutes, make sure I'm injecting into fat, and going somewhat slow. When I do my leg, I do on the side where I have more fat. Also hold the syringe at a bit of an angle to make sure it's not going into muscle. I prefer my stomach to my leg though.
