Has Anyone Had A Discogram Done Recently.

The Doctor is getting me set up to have a Discogram. I cannot have an MRI due to the fact i have bi- laterial cochlear implants. Has any one had this done recently. And any after effect after this. I am going surgery in near future. Pain has become so bad. Its made my life miserable. I want my life back.
Any recommendations on this or surgery is much appreciated
