Is SI Joint Instability Due To Spondylitis?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My SI joints misalign causing back pain. The worst part are the tight muscles that develop in the lower back, hips and legs.
Thanks for any information.

Use a inversion table works for me.

My SI joints were very out of alignment and eventually went back into place with a lot of physical therapy. I had a lot of glute tightness that using a foam roller and getting PT massage really helps with. I still have glute tightness, but not as bad. I do have to foam roll every day. Spondylitis causes inflammation of the SI joints, which can cause the muscle tightness. I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that tight muscles pulling on your SI joints could pull them out of alignment.

That pain you’re talking about was severe after my surgery it was worse than the surgery recovery pain, they said it was due to aggravating some kind of other muscle inside the pelvic, buttock area, the muscle usually goes over or touches the sciatic nerve, this muscle can be aggravated but also damaged, maybe they should check it or that muscle and see if it’s chronically aggravating your sciatic nerve, it’s very real and worse pain I’ve ever experienced even after spinal surgery and reconstruction

Sometimes it works. Only if I can stand laying on my back.
